Applicants must be prepared to work a minimum of 8 hours per day and some weekend working will be required. Pay is hourly and/or piecework.

Applicants must be able to work legally in the UK. We can not help applicants apply for work permits or visas.

Accommodation is in a cottage in the same village. You will have to cycle to the Nursery everyday (bikes will be provided). You will have to share a bedroom with one other person. Bathroom, kitchen and living area will be shared between 6 people. You will be expected to keep the cottages clean and tidy. There is a service charge of 40 per week plus electricity meter.

Two fit lads required for tunnel erection and maintenance.

Could lead onto further seasonal work on busy fruit farm with sheep and cattle as well. Licence and ability to drive tractors a big advantage.

Rates of Pay:
Each week you will receive payment for the previous weeks work.
Payment is based on either hourly rate or piecework rate.
Hourly rate - this will be line with the National Minimum wage act.
Piecework rate - This is a payment by result system, the more work you do the more money you will earn. Faster workers earn a lot of money this way.
With overtime you can expect to earn up to 250 per week.
Standard deductions (tax & N.I.) will be made from your wages and the details shown on your itemised wage slip.
No cash payments. Your wages will be paid by BACS transfer into your bank or building society account.
If you do not have a bank account we can arrange one for you as long as you have an up to date passport or photo identification card.

Charges
The accommodation package is to the value of 37.98. This is treated as a payment in kind and is reflected in your earnings.

Fun
The hostel encourages an active sports and social life outside working hours. Trips are regularly organised by the hostel so that you are able to see as much of the United Kingdom as possible.

What you should bring:
Sleeping bag (pillow if wish).
Warm working clothes and footwear.
Sufficient money to last until payday.
Identification - such as passport.

Apple Pickers wanted!

Approx. 20 people from September for approx. 4-6 weeks

Accommodation in self-catering caravans. Bring your own sleeping bag!

Picking 6 days a week.

Rates of Pay: 6 - 8 pounds paid per 300kg Bin of apples. It is possible to pick 4 bins per day, more experienced pickers can achieve between 4 and 8 bins per day.

It is important to remember that fruit picking can be physically challenging.

Salmans produces raspberries and blackberries in a very picturesque part of Kent from late May to the end of November growing about 400 tonnes a year and employing 100 -150 people largely 18 25 years old and mostly east european but with a mixture of other nationalities

We pick every day and nearly all our production is in 50 acres of polythene tunnels and glasshouses so we are not affected by poor weather.

Accommodation on the farm is in caravans and mobile homes. Full self catering facilities are available for 3.75 per day.

We are very close to the towns of Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells which offer good sports and leisure facilities and easy access to London which is about 45 minutes by rail.

Self-motivated pickers currently required until the end of November.
